Evren

Who he is

Evren was an ordinary young canine until one evening he was not, and the bite was never something he asked for. That would be a straightforward misfortune if he hated the result. He does not, entirely.

Under a rising moon the world becomes legible to him in a way it never was before, and he is stronger, bolder, more certain, and some part of him would rather not give that back. That is the thing he cannot say out loud, and the reason his fear points inward instead of at the change. Older wolves stalk. Evren surges. He has not learned restraint and on his worse days he is not visibly working very hard at it, which is not the same as not caring.

What frightens him are the moments he loses the thread of himself, the gap between the friend Finn has known since long before the bite and whatever is running in his place. He is not afraid of becoming a monster. He is afraid of enjoying it while it happens and only noticing afterwards.
