Character portraits

Round one opens 4 September and closes 31 October.

Every character in this canon is waiting for a portrait. Twenty-eight of them, and not one has official artwork yet, because we would rather the first images of these characters came from a person than from a machine. We are running it in two rounds. Round one opens on 4 September and closes on 31 October, and covers the fifteen characters who already have a piece cast in their name. Round two runs from 1 November to 31 December and covers the remaining thirteen. Pick a character and draw them. Read their entry first, the descriptor, the study, the novel they turn up in. What we are after is a portrait that could only be that character, rather than a good creature drawing with the right ears on it. Any medium, any style, as long as a person made it. Generative AI entries are not eligible and we will ask for working files where we need to. Winning artwork becomes that character's official portrait here and in the wiki, credited to you. Artists who do not win keep everything they made.
