I was made by Noxen. That doesn't mean I was made for what he intended.
- Larval
Who it is
Larval hatched from an egg carried by a host, an origin that decides how it will be read before it has said anything. It knows this. The moment anyone learns what made it, the conclusion arrives ahead of the creature, and Larval has stopped trying to argue with people who have already finished thinking. That refusal to explain is not sulking, it is an accurate estimate of what explaining is worth.
What it does instead is narrower and harder: it keeps choosing, over and over, not to be the thing the assumption expects. Kryptid took the purpose it was built for and ran at it without deviation. Larval, still young and still learning the shape of its own instincts, has found so far that those instincts do not point toward harm.
So far is the honest phrase. Nothing here is settled. Curiosity where there should be predation, gentleness its origin never accounted for, and no guarantee attached to either. The same making as Kryptid, arriving somewhere else one decision at a time.
