Who he is
Noxen has catalogued every star that pierces The Veil, every storm, every whisper, every impossible thing inside it, and every answer has produced more questions. Curiosity became obsession a long time ago. He is no longer looking for a way out. He is looking for certainty, and certainty has no exit.
What he resents about his sister is not that she made a world. It is that she stopped asking. A garden planted inside a prison is beautiful, comforting and, to him, meaningless. The irony sits underneath where he cannot reach it: for a being who wants all knowledge, he does not have the knowledge to tell her how he feels. What he sends into her Realm instead may be malice, or a very badly phrased attempt to be understood.
His prison was built for exactly who he is, an unanswered question and nothing else. The more he studies The Veil the less reality behaves around him. Documented objects vanish. Constellations rearrange. He has begun to wonder whether The Veil is protecting something, or protecting everything else from what is behind it.
