Koryn and Lyra have left Neonfall far behind.
Following the signal that first brought them together has taken them beyond Fryya's explored space, where there are no Central Forces to call, no Halcyon influence to rely on and no map to tell them what waits ahead.
Then something gets aboard their ship.
It moves where nothing should fit, snaking behind walls and through the narrow spaces between decks. They catch only pieces of it when it breaks through, glimpses of something too large for the ship around it, before it disappears back inside. And wherever it goes, their ship comes apart.
Koryn was trained to assess threats before they became dangerous. This time, he cannot even understand what he is fighting. As vital systems fail, every decision leaves him and Lyra with fewer options than the last.
The signal is still calling from somewhere ahead.
But something aboard their ship seems determined to make sure they never reach it.
